The different types
Obviously there are different types of hedge trimmers, with very different characteristics: some technologies are somewhat obsolete and other innovative, but each of them has advantages and disadvantages, which must be evaluated according to your situation.
Gasoline-powered hedge trimmer
This is one of the most widespread models, because it is able to deliver a lot of power and does not have the problem of cable, therefore offers a lot of mobility and the ability to work quickly. Unfortunately, all that glitters is not all gold, since the feature that most makes us turn up their nose is that of exhaust gas (the engine of these devices is powered by fuel, which we will inevitably breathe during the use of the instrument in action ).
The new 4-stroke models, however, have something more (in addition to the very high cost there is to say) because they can stem some of those problems described above, promising to cancel the bad odors and fumes harmful to the body.
Electric hedge trimmer
Even this type of technology can offer considerable power, costs also contained in many cases, but with the inevitable problem of the cable. Often the current wire is not a problem at all, but in some cases it may be too short and in general it never helps freedom of movement.
Battery-powered hedge trimmer
For a long time it has been little considered for the broader works, for those gardens that are more demanding, both for the power and for the limited life of the battery. Today, however, there are many models that offer more power and durability, this also thanks to the continuous research and insertion of lithium battery. In general this type of hedge trimmers is particularly requested by those who have to do small jobs, but the market is constantly evolving, so much so that at higher costs we find powerful, handy and fast cutting machines.
